The energy production technologies used in thermosolar power plants still has a long way to go before it becomes truly efficient, offering many progress and development options. Felguera-IHI is working on the design and construction of salt storage tanks, using its experience in other types of storage facilities. The purpose is to guarantee the correct preservation of salts at the high temperatures at which the facilities must be operated, with the purpose of generating energy during as much time as possible in the absence of sunlight. All at a competitive manufacturing and installation cost.
