Duro Felguera Logistic Systems, has successfully concluded an agreement with the Emmepi Group for the implementation of its first project in America. Specifically, the agreement includes the integration of an automated vertical warehouse for cardboard sheets (WIP warehouse – work in progress) in a greenfield plant that the Brazilian company KLABIN is developing in Piracicaba, a municipality in the state of São Paulo (Brazil).
The project, which integrates a Duro Felguera vertical warehouse, will be executed in two phases and will include 4 stacker cranes with a rack structure over 20m high. This warehouse is part of the comprehensive intralogistics automation project designed by the Emmepi Group, which represents a new important milestone in the collaboration that both companies have been developing in the corrugated cardboard sector in recent years.
As a precedent, KLABIN is the largest producer and exporter of packaging paper in Brazil. The new plant being developed in Piracicaba has a sheet storage capacity of 2 million m2 and an annual production of 240,000 MT, which will make it the largest paperboard manufacturing plant in Brazil.
This project marks the beginning of DF Logistic Systems in America and represents a new step in the geographical and sectorial expansion strategy of the Felguera Group in the continent.
