Thursday, 30 January 2020. The Board of Directors of Duro Felguera has ratified the appointment of Valeriano Gómez Sánchez as a new independent board member of the company.
Valeriano Gómez Sánchez boasts great experience in the field of finance and politics; he was Minister of Employment and Immigration in 2010 and 2011 under the presidency of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
In his 35 years’ work experience, Valeriano Gómez Sánchez has held different positions of responsibility, among which we could highlight: board member of the Financial and Social Council of Spain in two different periods (2001-2003 and 2007-2010), secretary general of Employment in the Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs (2004-2007) and MP in the Congress from 2011 to 2015 as spokesman for Economy of the Socialist Parliamentary Group.
Valeriano Gómez Sánchez also has experience in advising companies as he was a board member of Izar and Navantia.
Duro Felguera’s new board member holds a degree in Economics from the Complutense University in Madrid and has completed various courses of specialization in Labour Economy.
Furthermore, Ricardo de Guindos Latorre has notified the Board of his resignation as an independent board member, effective from 1 April 2020. Ricardo De Guindos Latorre declared that his main job (managing and running a professional office) is currently incompatible with the tasks commissioned by the Board of Directors of Duro Felguera.
