The main objectives of the “MENOS CO2” project (LESS CO2) are to develop innovative technologies associated with the reduction, capture and fixation of CO2 in conventional thermal power plants and demonstrating the commercial viability of the CO2 reduction, capture and fixation technologies in an economic environment driven by the emissions market. The purpose of this is to roll out the CO2 capture technologies in coal-fired thermal power plants before 2020-2025 at a competitive cost.
