Duro Felguera and its subsidiaries Duro Felguera Calderería Pesada and Duro Felguera Innovation Hub have joined Innovasturias as members, during the General Assembly of the entity, held on May 10th, where the association welcomed 18 new companies. The event, held at the Niemeyer Centre in Avilés, was attended by Bárbara Pericón, head of Quality, Environment and R&D of Duro Felguera Calderería Pesada, who collected the accreditation diploma.

HYPCoat PROJECT
Precisely with Innovasturias and other partners (Energy Cluster Association, University of Oviedo, Sistemas Especiales de Metalización, Inalia Innovación y Desarrollo and Fluytec), Duro Felguera Calderería Pesada has presented the innovation project called “HYdrogen storage enabled by Pressure-resistant COATings” (HYPCoat) to develop the optimal hydrogen storage system taking into account its materials and design and developing an IoT system for structural monitoring.
This, applied to the storage system, will not only allow greater control of structural risks and operation mode, but will also provide useful information for the design of these systems, as well as the performance of maintenance activities based on real data, and even predictive maintenance when machine learning algorithms are applied to the data.
