Duro Felguera has been awarded a contract by OPDE Energy for the construction of three solar photovoltaic plants called Covatillas 2, 3 and 4, located in the municipalities of Castillejo de Iniesta, Granja de Iniesta and Puebla del Salvador, in Cuenca (Spain).
The contract comprises the execution, under the BOP turnkey EPC modality, of these three plants, which will have a total capacity of 165 MWp. The first activities have begun, with completion of the works scheduled for December 2023.
With this contract, Duro Felguera Green Tech, the subsidiary for renewable energies, renewable hydrogen and new businesses of Duro Felguera, advances in its consolidation as a reference agent in the sector, where it already has outstanding milestones, such as two contracts in the execution phase for two plants in the Iberian Peninsula for the production of renewable hydrogen.
The CEO of Duro Felguera, Jaime Argüelles, highlighted Duro Felguera’s firm commitment to this line of business, which is largely based on the company’s “valuable experience in the conventional energy sector, with 26 GW installed worldwide”.
